16 books that should be adapted to a movie .
I am an avid reader, and I have read a lot of books within my reading journey. A whole lot! And I guess ,I know when a is beautiful written or not, when a book is very artistic, when a book is thought provoking, when a book is humorous, when a book should be made into a movie because I love the characters so much and want to see them somewhere else than my imagination, and that somewhere else is the TV screen ,or at the cinema with my friends. Or when a book would really be good as a screenplay.
Here is a list if 14 books carefully selected by me. That I really think should be adapted to a movie. Not only think,I wish. I really really wish. I hope some directors and producers see this and make my dream come true!
1.The List: Every year at Mount Washington high. An unknown anonymous group or person pastes copies of a paper with the school stamp ,all over the school. The list contains ,the ugliest girl from each grade ,freshman to senior and the prettiest girls from freshman to senior also. The story focuses on eight girls on the list, and how being included in the list affect their lives. It also explores the dangers of labelling.
I would really like this book to be adapted to a movie, because it has a strong message, that needs to be relayed to young teenagers out there especially girls. Also Siobhan Vivian describes so well in her writing, that it is almost impossible to not imagine the characters vividly and identify with them. She creates unique characters, and it will be fun seeing actors act out the characters Vivian has created. Actors like Selena Gomez,Anna Kendrick, Lana Condor and the likes.
2. The summer I turned pretty: The summer I turned pretty, is a young adult romance novel by Jenny Han. It centers on a naive girl ,Isabel Conklin who goes by Belly, her pet name in most of the book. Belly spends all her summers at the Cousins beach house. Mrs Cousin is her mothets lifelong best friend. and two brothers. The two brothers and Belly create a love triangle.
The Summer I turned pretty trilogy was really captivity for me,I remember I read the three books in three days. I think three movies based on the books would be captivating too. I heard sometime ago that it was going to be made into a movie series but then ,I don't see it coming, in case the plans have been dropped. I wish it could be adapted to a movie again. And yeah you should totally read the book before that time.
3. Little and Lion: Brandy Colbert writes coming if age novels beautifully. I like that her characters are so original and easy to understand. Little and Lion was a sloe read but I enjoyed reading it. The story centers on two step siblings, Lionel and Suzette. Lionel and Suzzete trust each other so much. But then Lionel gets diagnosed of bipolar syndrome. Suzzete gets sent to boarding school where she meets Iris,a girl. Then she discovers she likes girls. When she gets back home, she falls in love with a girl ,her brother also falls in love with.
There would be something so beautiful about seeing Lionel and Suzzete in the screen also I can't wait to see Emil! When you read the book ,you will know why.
4. On the come up: Angie Thomas's ,On the Come up recently became one of my favorite books. And I like Brianna even though she can be so annoying. I found my self scolding her a lot while reading. Angie knows how to draw you close to her characters, feel their pains ,understand them and love them.
Angie Thomas tells the story of Bri, a sixteen-year old rapper, who is the daughter of underground hip-hop legend,Lawless. Overnight, Bri becomes an internet sensation after posting a rap hit which sparks controversy. It is set in the same fictional African-American community, Garden Heights as Thomas' first book The Hate U Give.
I personally want to here the raps in the book performed by a cute African-American cool girl ,who is a good rapper.
5. We are the wildcats: The book starts, centers in the team girls of the wildcat varsity. A day before their first game of the season. A yearly traditional team sleepover is hosted by the team captain.
Everything hinges on the midnight initiation ceremony a beloved ,revered tradition and the only activities in the team of that the girls control. Until Coach decides to interfere,a handsome former college player revered and feared in equal measure changes the plan and spins his team on a new adventure. One where they take a rival team’s mascot for a joyride, crash a party in their pajamas, break into the high school for the perfect picture.
But as the girls slip out of their comfort zone, so do some long-held secrets. And just how far they’re willing to go for their team takes them all especially Coach by surprise.
We arebrhe wild cats is all about team work strength and girl power.
6. Hetty Feather Trilogy: wouldn't it be fun to see Hetty Feather from one of my favorite books by Jacqueline Wilson become,Sapphire Battersea and Emerald Star.
The trilogy focuses on a strong willed red headed girl who lives in a foundling hospital. She lives writing and keeps a journal. She hopes to be famous one day,go back to her childhood sweetheart, Jem and find her mother. The trilogy spans over Sapphire Battersea as she adventures around England.
7. Secret Seven: It would be tray cool to watch ,Enid Blyton's secret seven in franchise movies, as they go on their detective adventures. They are whole lot of books ,of the secret seven.
The Secret Seven,Secret Seven Adventure,Well Done Secret Seven,Secret Seven on the Trail,Go Ahead Secret Seven,Good Work Secret Seven,Secret Seven Win Through,Three Cheers Secret Seven,Secret Seven Mystery,Puzzle for the Secret Seven,Secret Seven Fireworks,Good Old Secret Seven,Shock for the Secret Seven,Look Out Secret Seven,Fun for the Secret Seven,"Mystery of the Skull","Mystery of the Theatre Ghost". 8. The Belles : The Belles by Dhoneille Clayton , focuses on Camellia Beauregard who is a Belle in the opulent world of Orleans, Belles are revered, for they control Beauty, and Beauty is a commodity coveted above all else. In Orleans, the people are born gray, they are born damned, and only with the help of a Belle and her talents can they transform and be made beautiful. But it's not enough for Camellia to be just a Belle. She wants to be the favorite the Belle chosen by the Queen of Orleans to live in the royal palace, to tend to the royal family and their court, to be recognized as the most talented Belle in the land. But once Camellia and her Belle sisters arrive at court, it becomes clear that being the favorite is not everything she always dreamed it would be. Behind the gilded palace walls live dark secrets, and Camellia soon learns that the very essence of her existence is a lie that her powers are far greater, and could be more dangerous, than she ever imagined. And when the queen asks Camellia to risk her own life and help the ailing princess by using Belle powers in unintended ways, Camellia now faces an impossible decision. With the future of Orleans and its people at stake, Camellia must decide save herself and her sisters and the way of the Belles or resuscitate the princess, risk her own life, and change the ways of her world forever. Dhonielle Clayton creates a rich, detailed, decadent world of excess and privilege, where beauty is not only skin-deep, but a complete mirage. Weaving deeper questions about the commodification of women's bodies, gender equality, racial identity, and vanity with high-stakes action and incredible imagery.
9. Girl Online: Zoe Sugg's Girl online was fun to read. I liked the characters, Penny and Noah Flynn and their live was adorable. It would be cool to watch Penny and Noah Flynn through the romantic and touching scenes. Harry Styles could be Noah Flynn.
10. Things Fall Apart: Chinua Achebe's satirical debut novel. Things fall apart, is one if the most widejy read books in literature. Nigerian producers should jump on a movie production based on the book. It would be really fun to watch.
