On the come up by Angie Thomas (book reveiw)

When she was ten, Brianna's Dad, Lawless, an underground rap legend, got shot by a Crown. The mother got hooked on drugs and had to go to rehab. 

   Now her mother ,Jay, is clean. But they are struggling to live. No heat, empty fridge.

Brianna knows rap is the only way out,she loves rapping. She has it in her genes probably gotten from her Dad. 

But will Brianna lose or find herself rapping? Or will she get on the come up.

          Brianna is such a real character, Angie Thomas is a badass writer. Reading On the come up was thrilling. There were many times when I wished I could get Brianna a good scolding. Yh..but she is still a lovable character.
