SEVEN THINGS I LOVE ABOUT CHIMAMANDA ADICHIE.
I admire and cherish a couple of authors ,and Chimamanda is one of them.
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, is a Nigerian author/writer. She writes novels,nonfiction books,plays and short stories.
She has written novels ,like Purple hibiscus, which was published in 2003,Half of a yellow sun published 2006,Americanah published 2013. She wrote a short story collection and published it in 2009,the thing around your neck,and in her book-length essay was published in 2014. Recently, Dear Ijeawelle or A Feminist Manifesto in Fifteen Suggestions, was published in March 2017.
Adichie was born in Enugu, Nigeria. To her father who was a professor and mother who was the first female registrar in the university of Nigeria. Adichie completed her secondary education at the University of Nigeria Secondary School, Nsukka, where she received several academic prizes. She studied medicine and pharmacy at the University of Nigeria for a year and a half. During this period, she edited The Compass, a magazine run by the university's Catholic medical students. At the age of 19, Adichie left Nigeria for the United States to study communications and political science at Drexel University in Philadelphia. She then transferred to Eastern Connecticut State University to be near her sister Uche,who had a medical practice in Coventry, Connecticut.
There are a lot of things.I love Chimamanda. There are not only seven things. But I will tell you seven things I love about her.
.1.Chimamanda is a fashionable:
Chimamanda sure knows fashion. She knows how to look fab no matter what.
2. Chimamanda is a feminist!: Yes Chimamanda is a self proclaimed feminist and she is proud of it. She has given talks about feminism and ways to go forward. Her book ,We should all be feminists,is a Tedx talk she gave,also Dear ijewele gives suggestions on how to train her friend's child not just a feminist but to be a better woman.
3. Chimamanda is a feminist and happily married: yhup, Chimamanda, gives an example to feminists out there who think marriage is not for feminists or something. As Chimamanda said in Dear Ijeawele ,Feminism is not about female domination…
She is married to Ivara Esege,a highly trained physician and medical doctor.
4.She is beautiful and outspoken:
Chimamanda is not afraid to talk about what she believes in and her passions.
Also she is so beautiful and has been on the covers of a lot of magazines. This is not only because of her beauty ,but her influence and the respect she has acquired in the world.
5. Chimamanda promotes Nigerian fashion:
On her instagram page, Chimamanda has been advocating, wearing Nigerian. She is seen in various events clad in Nigerian made outfits.
6. Chimamanda is intelligent and an intelligent writer:Americanah is one of the best books ,I have ever read, it was so beautifully written.

In 2003, she completed a master's degree in creative writing at Johns Hopkins University. In 2008, she received a Master of Arts degree in African studies from Yale University.
Adichie was a Hodder fellow at Princeton University during the 2005–2006 academic year. In 2008 she was awarded a MacArthur Fellowship. She was also awarded a 2011–2012 fellowship by the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, Harvard University.
In 2016, she was conferred an honorary degree – Doctor of Humane letters, honoris causa, by Johns Hopkins University.In 2017, she was conferred honorary degrees – Doctor of Humane letters, honoris causa, by Haverford Collegeand The University of Edinburgh.
In 2018, she received an honorary degree, Doctor of Humane Letters, from Amherst College.She received an honorary degree, doctor honoris causa, from the Université de Fribourg, Switzerland, in 2019.
7.Chimanmada promotes the Nigerian culture: in her Ted talk, The danger of a single story. She talks about the need to talk about the African story. Which is.similar to Achebe's story of the lions and the hunters. Who she admitted to be her first inspiration.
Chimamanda Adichie is an author that I will always admire.
